Trip description

This circuit is an opportunity to discover the natural beauty of Morocco’s landscapes, a successful blend of colors and an original itinerary that brings you closer to the authentic life of southern Morocco.

The Berber people, who mainly inhabit this region, adopt a nomadic lifestyle, which attracts tourists seeking a change of scenery, as well as the calm and serenity of the desert.

Along a magnificent river stretches the Draa Valley, a series of oases and palm groves bordered by the Anti-Atlas mountains on one side and the vast desert on the other.

Tour itinerary

Early departure from Marrakech in the morning to fully enjoy the beautiful views of the High Atlas Mountains and the small villages clinging to the slopes, which appear from the very beginning of the journey before crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters above sea level. Upon arrival at the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will take a short break to visit and explore this magnificent architectural masterpiece, where several films have been shot, including The Mummy, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, and The Diamond of the Nile. We continue our route towards Ouarzazate, then head towards Zagora (approximately 167 km). We then reach Agdz, where you will enjoy the first breathtaking views of the Draa Valley and its oases. Dinner and overnight stay in Zagora.

After breakfast, departure for Merzouga through unique desert landscapes dotted with oases. This beautiful route, with its many small oases, was once part of the great caravan routes of the past. We continue towards the dunes of Merzouga. You will experience a magnificent camel trekking adventure in the Sahara, enjoying the feeling of solitude in the heart of a vast and peaceful desert. You also have the option to spend the night in a desert bivouac, with dinner under a starry sky. You will also admire the dunes of Erg Chebbi, true moving sculptures shaped like draped waves, whose colors change depending on the light intensity. They rise like living defensive walls at the gates of the desert and can reach over 150 meters in height.
Zagora - Tansikht -Nqob - Tazzarine-Alnif- Erfoud - Merzouga

Departure towards Tinerhir through the Ziz Valley, surrounded by tamarisk trees and palm groves. Visit of the palm oasis followed by an excursion into the Todra Gorges, up to the end of the carriage road, along a narrow and impressive canyon. We then continue towards Ouarzazate along the Dades Valley, on the road of the Thousand Kasbahs, passing from oasis to oasis: El Kelaa M’Gouna (the city of roses), Skoura, and finally Ouarzazate.
Merzouga -Erfoud- Tinghir- Ouarzazate

After visiting the film studios and the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former residence of El Glaoui Pasha, departure towards Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass.
